Fort Horsted.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the next investigation installment blog.

Myself with the Breaking Paranormal UK team & Guests.

For this blog we traveled to Chatham in Kent to investigate the amazing Fort Horsted.

Breaking Paranormal UK were holding an event here and we attended as guests.

I have investigated the Fort before, but it was around four years ago. My memory on previous experiences here is not so good, but I DO remember we had a lot of unexplained voices and noises at that time. (I just can not remember what they were specifically!)

Me in the main tunnel at Fort Horsted.

Unlike many locations in the UK, Fort Horsted is not packed with paranormal teams investigating it every weekend. In fact, they only allow very few paranormal teams in per year. I’m unsure if this may be the reason why we experienced so much activity on the evening we went, but it seems like a valid theory.

On the night we went which was December the 1st, I had one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had whilst investigating. This blog was originally supposed to be posted in January but I moved the date forward as I felt I needed to share with you what we experienced and captured!

Before we get fully into the explanation of the activity.

Let’s find out a little more about Fort Horsted!

Now for this part, I was going to do a MASSIVE write up about the history but then I actually started looking into it AND THERE IS SO MUCH! It’s really unbelievable.

It was built in 1880 using convict labor from Borstal prison. So you can imagine how much historical fact is behind it’s walls!

I decided to take the easy route on this and instead of me just repeating myself over and over again, The official Fort Horsted website has a very detailed and knowledgeable history write up, and who better to explain it than themselves, right?

So here is the link; Fort Horsted History.

Newspaper Clippings.

I did do some research of my own though after reading the history!

I’ve always been a sucker for looking into the old newspaper archives as honestly, you never know what you are going to find!

As mentioned above, the Fort was constructed by Convicts. It is a well known fact that one of these convicts were buried alive whilst it was being built and I actually came across the original article from Bromyard News which was published on Thursday 14 March 1889

Not only this but I also found another article in relation to an accident at the Fort. One that might not be as well known as the other stories. It seems a man accidentally shot himself in the head which resulted in him loosing half of his nose!

It doesn’t state if the man survived or not.

This was published in the Aberdeen Evening Express on Friday 02 April 1886

(Pretty gruesome, right?!)

So along with the vast history of Fort Horsted, we could only wonder what energy would still be lurking and if we would receive any activity on the night of our investigation. As everyone know’s, when on a ‘ghost hunt‘ you can never guarantee that anything will happen!

It’s just the way of the paranormal, BUT on this occasion, I am thrilled to say that it did not fail to amaze us all!

The Investigation.

We arrived at the Fort at around 6PM and was greeted by Paul, he overlooks the place and takes charge of the general day to day business.

He started with a safety talk and then went on to explain some of the activity that has already happened at the Fort.

I’m not sure if you are aware but Fort Horsted actually featured on an episode of Ghost Adventures many years ago. Season 6, Episode 9.

So as well as the activity that was reported in this episode, since then, many more experiences have come to the surface.

I think it’s safe to say that everyone at the event was extremely excited to investigate this magnificent place. Paul was kind enough to give us a walk around and during this walk around, one of the areas which is usually closed off to paranormal teams was shown to us.

There is a part of the Fort where you must descend down 90 steps…

Yes that’s right 90!

Now, walking down them was a doddle, it was getting back up them which takes your breath away! (I was knackered! lol)

But it was totally worth it as down these stairs and through a few more tunnels at the very top is a locked off room. In this room it has Old War Graffiti painted by soldiers. The graffiti is so old that if you were to brush against the wall it could easily be destroyed, but Paul was kind enough to let us get up close and see this.

He took us in small groups (3-4 people) at a time and allowed us to witness this!

Here is the photos I took!

If you look close enough, you can see the signatures written on the wall in pencil.

After our walk-around, we started the investigation.

As the Fort is such a HUGE location, we split down into 3 small teams of 5-6 people in each group. We knew we’d have no trouble with noise interference, as honestly, when you are in one area, another team would either be VERY far away or DEEP underground.

The walls of the Fort are also very thick,  which cancels out the possibility of too much noise traveling.

In my group, there was Myself, Kim & Luke (The owners of Breaking paranormal UK) Tammy (A team member) and also my Dad and Kim’s mum.

Nice small friendly group!

We started in the main tunnels whilst the others ventured underground and to opposite sides of the location.

In this area, we stayed on the left side and walked down to the very bottom. At the start of the night Paul told us about a man who actually lives in the tunnels (This is a real person by the way!) His name is Tim. He has an apartment underground. Though why he is there, we really have no idea. At the end of this long tunnel it’s locked off as that would then lead into where this man lives. There is no way of this person getting into the tunnels we were investigating, as it’s locked off from our side.

This is where we decided to start our investigation.

We were about midway down this tunnel when we heard what sounded like a loud mental creaking noise. We instantly all ran back down to see what it was, only to find that the wind outside had picked up and it was hitting a gate making this noise we all heard. There is an opening at the end of the tunnel, so we debunked it.

With the noise getting louder from the wind, we headed to a quieter area in the back.

There is a small room with some seats laid out and we all sat down, kind of in a semi circle. We’d been calling out for a while and feeling as if we were not alone.

I can’t even begin to explain the amount of disembodied voices we heard with our own ears and the majority of them seemed to be coming from a female.

It was like a distant moan, singing and even what sounded like a hiss.

We actually picked up a lot of this on the camera’s audio as Luke was filming for the entire night.

A lot of us also saw shadows in this area. I guess what’s so amazing is that we didn’t even need to use equipment here, we were able to pick up on everything with our own ears and senses.

This can be a really rare occurrence on investigations, so I was pretty impressed!

I had a particular experience here after we’d moved from the back room and ventured up this flight of stairs into one of the ‘loft‘ areas. Paul had previously told us that in this particular area, whatever spirit was up here seemed to gravitate towards women.

We’d only been up there for less than a few minutes when I heard someone whisper my name…..

I instantly said that I heard it and thank god Luke was filming as he captured it! You’ll be able to see that in my video at the end of the write up.

In this Area Kim also heard something whisper into her ear.

Still in the same area, we decided to use the K2.

We actually had two of them, Kim was holding one and my Dad was holding the other, only a few inches away from each other.

We began to receive intelligent responses.

The K2 would light up for ‘Yes‘ when we asked questions.

But want to hear the really compelling part?

It was only Kim’s K2 that would respond. The other one that was just a few inches away did not even flicker! So IF this was a plane flying overhead or some random burst of energy, then why did it not light them both up? Surely it would.

I’d love someone to explain this to me, as honestly, I was baffled.

During this session, we managed to find out the spirit was male and that he was a part of the army and his rank was lieutenant. We also established he was with a female spirit.

We played some old time war music for them and asked if they were dancing to which he responded yes. I was also using the Ovilus at this time and when asking who the lady was, it said the name ‘Mandy‘ (I got pretty excited over that intelligent response!)

Again, all of the above was captured on film and it’s available in Breaking Paranormal’s video.

For the second part of the investigation, we ventured down the 90 steps (again lol)

This area is deep underground and at the bottom of the steps is a tunnel.

You then walk up more steps to get to an area where the soldiers in the Fort would use as a firing point, this is where the room to the graffiti leads off.

We actually started investigating just outside of the room with the graffiti.

In this first area again, we began to hear disembodied voices, both male and female.

There was a REM pod on the ground as well a ball which lights up when touched.

We’d kinda all moved into the middle of the room holding hands to build the energy and we were calling out when the ball behind us suddenly lit up.

Honestly, we were not expecting it. It was just a flash of light out of nowhere and we all kinda huddled together hugging whilst Kim (one of a kind) clapped her hands thinking it was amazing!

(It’s actually really funny in the video as I launch as Kim’s mum and jump hug her! I’m sure she was thinking, what the hell? sorrrrrry)

After we’d composed ourselves we continued to call out again.

This time venturing out into the main area where the stairs are. In this area we persuaded Tammy (as she had a loud voice) to do some roleplay techniques to see if we could get activity. She began to yell out pretending she was a Sargent and that everyone needed to get to their posts as the ‘Gerry’s‘ were coming.

This probably sounds ridiculous.. BUT IT WORKS.

You wouldn’t believe how much we had happen after this! Which is why I’m so glad that Luke was filming and it was picked up on video. The voices, the loud bangs.

It really seemed to rattle something, that’s for sure.

My amazing experience.

A lot of you may have seen on social media that I stated I had the most terrifying and amazing experience at Fort Horsted.

We’d actually decided to investigate the small tunnel at the bottom of those 90 steps.

Now, I can’t even begin to put into words what I saw, so I thought it best to try and explain face to face in a video. It’s just easier for me that way.

In this video, you will see the explanation of the experience in question, as well as a few clips of evidence from above that was previously captured.

(My name being whispered, The ball getting triggered and also a strange voice we captured right before I had my personal experience.)

So what did I see exactly?

A man. He was young, looked in his twenties, he had thick black hair and it was swept to the side. No facial hair. I looked into his eyes.. they were dark, but I could see the whites of them. He didn’t have an expression and for that split second I saw him, he was looking directly at me.

I did contemplate trying to draw a picture of him, but I’m terrible (It’d look like a stick man) All I can say is, he had a thin face. He didn’t look evil or anything like that, he just looked like a normal person.

And then he was gone in the blink of an eye.

After hearing the voice in the footage which sounded like ‘Ich‘ in German (to me) I can only wonder if the man that spoke a few seconds before was the man that I saw….

As I mention in my Video Log above..

Yes, this had changed my opinion on the paranormal, people can call me mad, but I KNOW what I saw and I will NEVER forget it.

It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life….

so far!

Kim from Breaking Paranormal UK also put together a FULL investigation video of the night, they captured some awesome stuff.

As the video it’s now available on YouTube I have posted it here & you can watch this below!

Kim also wrote on their own blog about their experiences of the night. You can find the post link below and it’s really interesting to read what happened from Team to Team. There is also some EVP’s that a guest (Ashley) captured.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this as I have enjoyed sharing my experiences with you all. These experiences will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Fort Horsted is a place I will never forget.

I’m going to finish this blog on a fun note.

For those of you that have watched the new all female Ghostbusters…

The reaction from 41 seconds onwards is pretty much me right now.

Until next time,

Happy Hunting.

50 Shades Of Spectre.

Hi everyone!

So before you continue to read this post I feel like I have to include some kind of disclaimer here for what is about to follow on this blog. This is intended in all good fun and for adults only. So if you’re underage or easily offended turn back now!

So I guess the question is, Have you ever had a ghost give you the willies? Well, I think I can honestly say that after this investigation, we certainly have!

Last night (22/11/2018) Myself and a few friends (Nick Stoppani, Miki York, Gaynor Cassie Issitt and Alyson Cheshire) decided we would all meet up and go investigate The Grace Dieu Priory in Leicestershire!

L-R Alyson, Nick, Gaynor, Myself and Miki.

Now, I didn’t actually intend to write a blog on this originally, but due to a certain photo that was captured on the evening, I decided to go ahead and post that along with a few of the other pictures and an explanation of how it all happened.

You may have seen a few statuses floating around on social media saying it looked as if we captured a ‘ghost penis

THIS IS NO JOKE! (well it is! because it’s funny, but honestly, it’s really what it looks like and you will see what I mean below)

Here is all of the other pictures I took on the night with my full spectrum camera.

SO! As you can see from the photos above there is not ONE strange mist in any of the pictures I took throughout the night. There was a total of 21 pictures all together.

Then we have the actual picture in question….

The Spectral Schlong, The Phantom Phallus, Ectogasm, Haunted Horn, Spooky Sausage, Bewitched Wang, Boogeyman’s boner and last but not least Pareidickolia!

(Thanks to my dirty minded friends for the titles! always appreciated!)

I know you can see it already.. BUT LET’S ZOOM IN ANYWAY!

I noticed this as soon as the photo was taken as it flashed up on my screen! My instant thought was ‘omg, it’s a ghost dick pic‘ and upon showing it to Miki, it received the exact same reaction!

So after we all had a good laugh of what it actually can be assumed to be, we decided to try and debunk the mist in the photo in case it was my breath that had caused it all in the first place. (BTW I was alone when I took the photo as I’d wandered off, so if it was going to be anyone that caused it, it would have been me.) and yes, I know that sounds completely in the gutter again… but you got this far, so why stop now?

I went back to stand where I originally took the pic and breathed out and snapped a photo. (Miki can also vouch for this as he was stood right next to me when I did it!)

This was the photo of my breath..

Absolutely nothing! Maybe a tiny bit of mist but nothing compared to the other one!

I also had a before picture too. So you can now see the EXACT order of which I took them.

First Photo.
Second Photo.
Third photo (Whilst breathing out to try and debunk)

There you have it guys! I hope the actual picture brought a smile to your face as I know we all found it extremely funny on the night!

Is the mist actually paranormal? No idea! After trying to debunk it I guess it makes it a little stranger! I think this capture is going to be something memorable for the rest of my life. They say there is a first time for everything….

And for those cleaner minds out there, it’s also been referred to as a ‘hoof‘ and maybe ‘an arm with a mitten on the endBUT SERIOUSLY GUYS .. We all know what it REALLY looks like don’t we?

It was even suggested to me that it looks as if a hand is somehow grasping it….

But I’ll leave you with that thought and you can make of it as you will!

All in all, it was an absolutely brilliant night and great to investigate and catch up with everyone.

Miki was actually doing a lot of filming and apart from the giggles we had, In all seriousness we captured some amazing responses and evidence.

I’m sure he will probably put a video together so I won’t say anything about it for now!

Just keep your eyes peeled for that one soon!

Until next time

Happy Hunting…

Bosworth Hall.

Hi everyone! Welcome to the next investigation installment blog.

For this blog we traveled to Market Bosworth to Investigate the magnificent Bosworth Hall Hotel where we attended an event on Halloween night being run by Haunted Live.

This was my second investigation here in 2018 and I had such a great experience the first time around I knew I had to go back and investigate it again when given the chance on Halloween night!

As this was an event we were split down into three small teams..

So to get a more accurate idea of what activity was received on the night from team to team I got into contact with the HauntedLive lads and they agreed to write up there own personal experiences of the night and they will be guest featuring on this blog.

We also have Sam Littlejohns from The ParaAngels who was a guest on the evening and she was also kind enough to get involved.

Before we begin, let’s hear a little more about the history and the ghost stories of Bosworth Hall!

The main house which is known as Bosworth Hall was built in 1682 after the land was inherited by the Dixie Family. The Dixie family have records which date right back to the 12th century so there is quite a lot of history that has passed through this building.

Unfortunately for them, they lost their fortune in the early 1880’s due to gambling debts and they were forced to sell their estate.

Although the Dixies did maintain close connections to Bosworth Hall as they served as governors for it’s grammar school.

In 1885 the estate was purchased by Charles Tollemache Scott and he made many changes to building. The cellar gates were replaced with cell doors from the Newgate Prison in London. The gate is still there, situated at the entrance to the Newgate bar.

Scott’s daughter went on to sell the estate in 1913 where it changed hands several times before becoming a part of the leicestershire county council where it was converted into a hospital and it would stay as this right up until the 1980’s.

Many soldiers have passed through it’s doors and some did not make it out alive. This is just one of the reason’s why Boswroth Hall is reputed to be so haunted.

After the closure of the Hospital in the 1980’s it was then that it was converted into the hotel that it is today. The present hotel has 210 bedrooms, a health and leisure club, restaurants and a bar. It also has conference and banqueting facilities.

With such a vast amount of history, it’s unsurprising that the Hall is reputed to be extremely haunted!

But what are some of the ghost stories?

Many guests who have checked in to the hotel have reported paranormal activity. Anything from shadows being witnessed in their rooms to objects being moved or thrown with no reasonable explanation.

The most famous of ghost stories is that of the Ann Dixie, Known as ‘The Grey Lady’.

The story goes that she fell in love with the gardeners son and her father did not approve. It is said that her father had set ‘man-traps’ on the grounds of the estate to stop the two from meeting in secret, but one night, Ann herself stumbled into one of the traps.

It is said that she suffered horrific injuries but somehow managed to drag herself from the gardens and back to her room where she evidently bled to death. The sighting of this ‘gray lady‘ has been seen on multiple occasions at the hall and upon its grounds. Some believe she is a restless spirit looking for her lost love, or even to exact  revenge upon her father.

My Experiences at Bosworth Hall.

L-R Simon, Paul, Andy, Myself, Jason & James.

Halloween 2018 was my second visit and investigation at the magnificent Bosworth Hall, the first was at a summer solstice event I attended in June.

Before I move on to talking about my experiences on the Halloween event, I wanted to briefly fill you in on some of the activity we had received in June.

On this event I was in a small group with Team leader Jason Wall of HauntedLive.

We started out in one of the upstairs conference rooms and we had some amazing activity with the REM pod. I remember this particularly well because I have been using the REM Pod myself for many years and honestly, for me, It’s really rare to see it go off!

It has an antenna on the top which is activated by touch and it has an EMF field. We had set this down in the middle of the room and everyone was stood back asking questions. It didn’t do anything for the first ten minutes or so, that was until my dad (yes, that’s right my dad! who loves ghost hunting) started to ask questions and it began to respond.

We’d established that the spirit was male through this form of communication. Lighting up for when the answer was yes and staying off for when it was no. After multiple questions, we found out the spirit was around fifty years of age and he was also once a soldier who was brought to the hospital.
I was thinking at the time, Hospital? what? Myself wondering if there was one around here as Jason had asked the question. I had gone into this investigation completely blind and had not looked up the history at this point, which is something I will do from time to time.

Jason then went on to explain that it was used as a hospital at one point and that we were standing in what use to be one of the wards!

It kind of shocked me a little bit as when we had first walked into this room, I remember thinking it smelt like a hospital. It only lasted for a few seconds and it was just a feeling I got and that sense soon passed. It’s not often I pick up on things so for me this was a really profound experience and one I remember very well.

During the evening of the summer solstice we had a lot of activity throughout the different areas which is the entire reason I wanted to go back. As soon I saw HauntedLive were doing an event there again, we were booked on and ready for round two!

For the Halloween event we were split down into small teams and this time I was teamed up with Paul Stevenson and James Pykett.

We’d started out in a downstairs conference room.

Their was some chairs scattered around the room and we’d all sat in a kind of a ‘half circle‘. Some of the guests in our team had EMF meter devices which were placed onto the ground and I also had an EMF trigger object bear. The devices had been sat on the ground for a really long time with nothing happening and on this evening there was a choir practicing in the room next door (as it’s an active working hotel) and we could faintly hear them singing. (talk about eerie!)

What’s strange to me is that as soon as they started to sing, the activity in the room would flare up. The devices on the ground would start to pick up on a high EMF frequency which wasn’t there before, some of them even going all the way up to red.

We had one device on the left side, so I took out my own EMF meter and placed it on the right.

We asked whoever we were interacting with to move between the two and it did. We had them lighting up from left to right on command as well as using the EMF trigger object bear being as a lady in our team at the time was picking up on a small child. We also had a few names comes through, Harry and Gina being the main two that I remember fairly well.

After all of the activity with the EMF devices we then swapped our area and we headed down into what I would call ‘the judges room‘. It’s a very small official room downstairs with a large table in the middle and chairs, which we all sat around.

From the moment we’d stepped into this room I didn’t like it. It just had this darker feel to the rest of the hotel. Again, just something I personally sensed.

Paul and James had the Alice Box device running (which is similar to the ovilus and gives out phonetic words) and it started to say some disturbing phrases like ‘Hell, Demon, Hung, poltergeist‘ which was completely different to the words we’d received in the other room only moments ago.

I was sat on the far back of the room towards the wall and it felt as if someone had taken their hand and ran it along a whisp of my hair across my forehead. I could feel the static electricity from this and it caused me to turn and look around. No one was there as we were all seated. I actually ignored it the first time and carried on. Then it happened again, but this time it felt like someone had actually touched the top of my head. I could even feel the fingers!

This was when I said something, letting everyone know I had just been touched as it was so prominent for me. A few seconds after me saying this, the lady who was sat in front of me said she thought she’d saw a very tall shadow lurking around my chair and then the Alice box said ‘Victoria‘ !! Which is my full first name!

This was amazing to me, that I’d felt something touch my head, someone saw a shadow around me and then the Alice Box said my name.

We all then tried to see if the spirit was connected to me, or maybe they had taken a liking to me, but nothing along those lines made sense. A lot of people in this room reported feeling uncomfortable and particularly a few also said they saw shadows around the room which seemed to be moving between us. We were also using these ‘light up trigger balls‘ (lol) which had been placed on the ground. You literally have to touch them for the sensor to go off which makes them flash and they had triggered a few times in this room whilst we were calling out.

After a short break and a Flapjack (YES I finally got a flapjack this time and hot chocolate, it was great!) We went upstairs to investigate the bridal suite. This was a new area for me because the last time we were at the hotel the room was booked out so we didn’t get a chance to investigate it.

Firstly, the room is absolutely stunning but it’s also known to be one of the most haunted rooms in the hotel and also it’s reported to be the room that Ann Dixie died in.

Inside it’s two separate rooms, one which is ‘kind of‘ a living area as well as the actual bedroom. We started in the living area and didn’t receive much activity so we moved to the bedroom and scattered ourselves out. Again we had the Alice box running and it actually came out with the word ‘bride‘ and ‘Anne‘ A few people in the room were sensing that their was something in the bathroom so we split up.

A couple of the guests went into the bathroom with James and we were sat outside still calling out. I actually heard the bathroom door handle move, so I thought they were coming out.

It was a few seconds after this that James came out to ask who was coming in….

All of us were sat down, but somehow the door handle had managed to ‘creek‘ on its own. That was really odd considering i’d also heard this myself with only being a few feet away from the door.

For the final parts of the investigation, we decided to go back down to the ‘judges room‘ again. We’d had quite a few experiences in here earlier. This time I sat on the opposite side of the table to where I was previously and what’s interesting is, the lady who was sat where I was before reported feeling touched on the head!

Not only this, but James also experienced the same thing. My dad was sat on the desk behind us, and it’s not very often he speaks up and says anything as he’s a kind of an ‘open minded sceptic‘ but he said it felt like the table was shaking that he was sat on.

Jame’s had put his hand on the table and could feel the same thing, though it probably only lasted for less than a minute, it was really weird. There seemed to be a certain corner in the room on the left side that people would see the same shadow, it could only be described as a ‘monk‘ as it looked like it had a hood. I personally did not witness this myself, but a few others did at the same time and said the same thing.

Not only did we investigate the hotel but also the grounds which are reputed to be extremely haunted. Whilst I did not witness anything unusual when we were investigating outside, I really enjoyed walking up to the old water tower and seeing the amazing scenery. It was eerily spooky at night even more so on Halloween!

Bosworth Hall did not fail to disappoint again with activity and I’ll definitely be returning in 2019 at some point.

The spirits inside of it’s walls seem very eager to communicate with the investigators, It can only make me wonder what else we will uncover in the future and then maybe we will able to piece together the stories that they are trying to tell!

Here are some photos I took from the previous event at Bosworth Hall!

Andy Soar of HauntedLive was in a different team to myself on the evening and as mentioned I wanted to get a perspective from each team. He was kind enough to write up the experiences they had, here is what he had to say!

The Hallowen II event at Bosworth Hall did not disappoint. The unpolitically correct title – Team SPAS (Simon and Andy) had the task of starting off in the upstairs conference room. We had the Plasma Ball, Afterlight box and the SLS camera setup in there along with Jason’s flashy balls and a KII. In fairness, it was a little quiet at first and took a while for the energies to build up. In a very warm room, we experienced cold spots, Sam and Maxine from ParaAngels picked up on a distressed female in the corner of the room. They had an Alice box running and School Mistress was one of the words that came through. In this first session, there wasn’t too much to report in all fairness. That would change in a later session where Sam and Maxine opted to return accompanied by me whilst Si venture to the Bridal suite. More on this later. Not for the first time the numbers 3 and 7 featured prominently on both of the ITC devices.

This was the first opportunity to investigate the Cellar area at Bosworth. It felt a little restricted, Afterlight didn’t yield anything of any real value despite being perched near the second door from Newgate Prison. It may warrant further study but with a substantially smaller group. We opted to investigate the Dysart Room next, a room which always feels like more should happen than it does. The odd bump here and there. This time however, one of the flashy balls intermittently went off on the far table, shadows and movement around the door near to the other door from Newgate and the table itself, to those sat around it, felt like it was moving. Temperature dips here and there and some good banter made this room feel a little more active than before. One of the guests Nadia, seemed to be getting very good responses from calling out and did for quite a lot of the night.

I have to say, I quite like room 134, the one that’s now believed to more likely have housed the dying Anna Dixie. Yet again, we experienced the chain on the door looking like it moves by being touched rather than pendulously as a result of the door closing. Taps in the bathroom, temperature changes and a few good words coming through the devices. But arguably not too much else.

After the hot chocolate break, the groups split. As I mentioned earlier, I opted to sit in with the Maxine and Sam as they very much felt they had unfinished business in the conference room. And in all honesty, they were right. Each time that I went to a certain spot at the fireplace, I felt a charge, hairs on my arms standing on end. Each time this happened to me, there appeared to be some sort of transference to a creepy male spirit behaving in a pervy manner with Maxine. Sam caught a number of light anomalies during this time and showed me an epic capture from earlier in the evening as Maxine stood in front of one of the main mirrors looking transfigured. A remarkable photo as it’s only the area around her that was affected. At one point I chose to sit down and experienced pressure on my neck and shoulders as though I was being forcibly held down. Moments later it dissipated and I felt okay again. This area the second time was the highlight for me and the energy those two brought was fantastic to work with. A couple of times I did poke my head around the door only to see all sorts of stuff kicking off on the REM Pod – all lights being lit up and what looked to be a very happy bunch of guests.

Seeing and hearing accounts from the other groups, I know that this Halloween event was great for the majority of guests and I look forward to returning to do it again in 2019.

Sam Littlejohns from the ParaAngels was also in Andy and Simon’s team on the night and she captured a rather amazing photo which you can see at the end of her write up. Not only this, but she also sent me along a video of some strange light anomalies. Here is Sam’s account of evening!

What an amazing place Bosworth Hall Hotel is!

Two members of ParaAngels team attended. We are not mediums but we do have sensitivities that we are listening to a lot more during investigations. Our best equipment is ourselves.

We started in a large stately room. Set up for dining this room was foreboding with a large fireplace and 2 large mirrors.

Upon entering the room I felt the energy of a female. She was stood in a far corner just watching us. After a few moments I was hit with a feeling of utter sadness. At this point I started to use the dowsing Rods. The information I gained:

  • Nanny
  • Not worried
  • Sadness
  • Died here
  • 1710
  • School mistress
  • Poverty

Maxine was also picking up on an anxiety feeling with the same female energy and a pressure in her head which was confirmed by Simon a HauntedLive member, who felt the same.

We returned to this room at the end of the night to see if we could communicate with this lady but when we had gone in we immediately noticed the feeling had changed.

A male energy was now present. At the side of the fireplace had become ‘charged’ with energy which was tangible. A lecherous man who Maxine felt was touching her. During this time we were filming and caught some light anomalies that seemed to back up what Maxine was feeling. Upon reviewing some pictures took earlier in this room I caught a black mass near one of the mirrors.

Downstairs in a small meeting room we saw shadows pass by a large glass window to an empty corridor and also felt taps on the table and felt footsteps that actually made the floor ‘bounce’.

Here is the mysterious photo that Sam captured of a strange black figure / mist forming by a mirror in the upstairs conference room.

Photo taken at Bosworth Hall Hotel by the ParaAngels.

This is the video she also provided (Thanks Sam)

I particularly find the part from around 36 seconds very interesting. You will see a strange light anomaly (definitely does not look like dust or a bug) whisping in-between the two people stood in the video. It almost looks like it’s bouncing between the two before it completely disappears!  STRANGE!

Jason Wall of HauntedLive who was in the third and final team has also provided us with his experiences of the evening!

Here’s what he had to say!

Bosworth Hall Hotel. Just the name itself is enough the make the HauntedLIVE team a little excited. This is the location of our very first public event, Halloween 2017, and a year to the day we were back to celebrate our first anniversary back at where it all began.

There are so many different layers of history in and around Bosworth. Not just the land, where the famous battle took place but in the hotel itself. From a family home with a dark story to cloud the magnificence of the building, to a hospital where lives started and were taken away, even after a year of investigations, we are only touching the surface of what we believe is there.

For their sins, my team, or team Jason no mates, as we were affectionately (I hope) called began in the cellar area. This was a first, no teams had previously been allowed into this part of the hotel on the events before. The cramped and restricted space made the area feel oppressive to some degree; however, it was eased by the fact that the lighting could not be switched off and there was a constant background noise from the working hotel staff. From an investigation perspective, although of interest to the guests it was not a great space to focus our energies on so we quickly moved to the smaller Dysart conference room on the ground floor.

The Dysart room, situated on the ground floor of the hotel, was in a previous life a justice room. People were bought in, sentenced and taken away again to serve whatever punishment was given as quickly as it took to read this sentence. Scary really!

Although we tried calling out and had several EVP sessions, there were no immediate responses to what we were trying to achieve. As we continued our calling out though, we slowly felt the atmosphere change in the room and a pattern started to develop with how the K2 meters lighting up. Placed on opposite corners of the table they were bizarrely reacting in almost perfect symmetry even at a distance of 2 meters away from one another. Two of the group, sat in the furthest corner of the room both felt or were aware of a presence around where they were sat. Whether this affected our the team mind-set is unsure, as we all collectively experienced what we believed to be a change in temperature and slight draft move around the table. It was as if someone were moving around, checking the team out. It was only after this, from the opposite corner of the room to where the presence was felt, and interestingly where the second K2 was placed making themselves known with we thought to be a slight knock, not once but at least twice, maybe three times. For a 25 minute quick vigil we all came away from the room thinking this was the start of something more for the night.

Vigil 3 & 4 were in the bigger ground and first floor conference rooms. I have combined these two vigils because, at this point some of the guests believed we had the same spirit follow us from the Dysart room. Lucy, who herself is experienced in investigations believed that the spirit from the smaller room was moving around us initially in the large room downstairs. We sat in a circle, with the K2 meters again with the same people as before and the motion sensor ball in the centre of the team. The ball was set off a number of times, and despite us trying to debunk this, it was clear that without us being obvious with our movement or stomping loudly that we could not make the ball light up. As earlier, the K2 meters were once again working in tandem around the same people as before. Interestingly, the REM pod, situated away from us was silent. When we moved upstairs to what I find the most active of the conference rooms, things changed. Lucy was last to enter the room, however just before she was about to step inside she stopped and held the door open for someone she thought was behind her and part of the team. There was nobody there.

In order to try to confirm if we were communicating with the same spirit from downstairs we replicated the vigil from downstairs. Sat in a circle, with K2 with the same guests and the motion ball in the centre. What we experienced was the same K2, the same ball movement again. This time with specific responses to lead us to believe that whoever was there was the same spirit as in the Dysart room, and the larger conference room on ground floor. This re-enforced what the team already thought. What is interesting is that as we were about to start the vigil, a photo was taken of the room with the door to the room in shot, this shows when zoomed in what could be taken as the face of a person. The face is very high when measured against the height of the door, and it is easy to make out features of a man.

Is this pareidolia or is it the face of the person Lucy felt the presence of and saw standing behind her when she went to enter the room? That is open to discussion. All we can say about our experiences within the building is that they were consistent throughout the evening!

After refuelling on copious amounts of hot chocolate and snacks (if you ever join us on this event make sure you have a brownie and flapjack, get in before Simon and Vicky though or you will be out of luck, I speak from experience!), we had our last vigil outside in the gardens of the hotel.

Just beyond the building, there is a set of trees close to the stream. One of the first trees we come across is set in a circle, surrounded by bushes and appears to be set out similarly to other locations investigated where witchcraft and sacrifices took place. Previously we had great activity in the this area and as then, the first initial feeling was of being watched. This feeling and some strange noises around the team ensured that we all unknowingly closed in together to form a tight circle. There were clear movements that could be clearly heard by all the team behind the tree, where the greenery had disappeared as the colder season had taken hold. The fact the plants and bushes were bare meant we could see there were no animals to make those noises and most of the team agreed that the sounds were more like footsteps and movement attributed to human rather than animal. Alice backed up these claims by coming up with the words, died here and more chillingly, not at rest when we asked if this was a soldier from the battles that had been nearby. It is an area of the event that needs more investigation work.

Once again, Bosworth Hall had not disappointed, repeated activity around certain team members and a photograph of a face that raised even more questions. None of us can wait to return and explore more of the mystery of this fascinating location.

Paul Stevenson who was in my Team on the night has also contributed to the blog, Talking about what it’s like to investigate with the HauntedLive team and being at Bosworth Hall! Here’s what he had to say!

When Vicky asked us to write about the Halloween Ghost Hunt at Bosworth, I just knew I had to be different, not just because I knew that most of the other guys would want to write a piece about what happened and what went off (and rightly so), and the one thing you don’t want to read is repeat, after repeat, after repeat. But also, because different is good, different is cool and different is just simply me, pure and chuffing simple.

This was our 4th ghost hunt at Bosworth Hall, and our 2nd Halloween event and to cut a long story short, you advertise an event, people pay to go on said event, people turn up for said event, you do the said event, you chat and mingle with people during the said event, the said event finishes, you wish everyone well and then everyone goes and the said event finishes. As I said that’s the short version.

A lot goes into planning an event to make it run the best it can, from the beginning to the end and everything in between, and if you’re thinking by planning we mean “fish wire”, guests being dragged upstairs by ghost ropes and the Hall’s kitchen knives being flung around the rooms like it is an audition for Britain’s Got Talent, you are very sadly mistaken.

For HauntedLIVE we are five very different types, all good mates, different in personality, different in skills and different in life in general BUT that’s what makes it work, we think.

We’ve been doing events at Bosworth for just over a year now and WE LOVE IT, the location, the history, the fact that we are the first people do to this kind of thing at Bosworth Hall and of course, our working relationship with the people at Bosworth Hall, add all those into the mix and we truly believe Boz (our nickname for it) is simply one of the best places to investigate.

With this event (and all events to be fair), our design guru, Andy, aka The Haunted Guy designed yet another cracking advert poster for the event, we are all old enough and ugly enough to realise that marketing and promo plays an important role in any sales for the event.

So, the advert gets placed on social media, the main three being Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and interest in the event happens fairly straight away, then sales follow, deposits or full payments, entirely the customer’s choice and then the event starts to fill up, we limit the number to 30, as we think this works, given the amount of teams that we split the group into and also the areas that we are given access too. We could sell 40 or 50 but to us that’s not customer effective in our opinion, each to their own, I guess. We, as I am sure other companies do like to make the payment process as quick and easy as possible, as it should be, email confirmations are sent out, any news updates re: the event / Boz / what we are doing gets sent to them, just to make them aware that we thank them for their custom and it’s not just a case of pay, turn up and go.

So, the event becomes SOLD OUT and preparations start for it, we do a recce at Boz just to see what locations work best, what have worked best in the past, what new locations and areas are available and obviously discussions with Ruth at Boz re: food, logistics and all that behind the scenes stuff that we like to make sure is bang on. We all know that on an event, anything can happen, such is the beauty of the paranormal but back of house we like to have things set in place so that we can deal with any issues should they arise.

As an event location, Boz is getting use to us and we are getting use to Boz, none of us know if the ghosts and spirits of a location have to feel safe and comfortable before attempting to possibly communicate but hand on heart, every time we have ran an event here the activity has grown, yes quieter in some areas but overall the crescendo in activity has increased.

The guests, the paying public are the Kings & Queens of the event, we are merely the servants for the evening, some may say court jesters. It is their night, it is their event, we are there to help, to explain, to interact, to make everyone feel comfortable and (at times) to go “wow, WTF was that, did anyone else hear that?”.

I could have gone on and on about how the five of us all work differently in the paranormal, how we like to mix up who each of us team up with, how we like to test ourselves, how we like to try to give a paranormal experience like no other without the need to fake, to spoof or to stage anything, but I won’t as I believe Andy has written a thesis and Jason and James have pitched in with their encyclopaediac pieces.

All paranormal event companies are different, we don’t profess to be the best, to be the most fun, the most experienced, we just want all of the guests to have an enjoyable time on our events, maybe to have picked up some paranormal activity, but also to have had a laugh, to have some bloody fantastic food (at Boz) and to have met new friends and to go home thinking “you know what those HauntedLIVE lads, they aren’t bad you know”.

To finish this blog I am going to post a Poem that James Pykett from HauntedLive wrote about the Halloween event. It pretty much sums everything up in a lighthearted and fun way!

There is a Hall named Bosworth where I spent Old Hallows Eve,
I walked around it’s haunted grounds as leaves fell from the trees,
I went inside to start the night and felt all warm inside,
With food laid out and drinks a plenty – my stomach I could not hide!

We started in a big old room with nervousness in the air,
As lights lit up and beeps were heard we knew that they were near,
It wasn’t long before we changed as there was so much more to see,
I even stopped at the haunted toilets to let out a little wee…

The Bridal suite is where we went even though we weren’t to wed,
As the handle turned with no-one there – was it all just in my head?
Paul sat awkwardly near the window whilst Vicky pushed for more,
Asking questions over and over like the sea returns to shore,

Next was Dysart, cold and dark with panelling all around,
“If you can hear us tap the wall – so we can hear your sound!”
Violent words flashed up on Alice which put us on high alert,
Vicky was tapped, and I was touched but luckily, we weren’t hurt.

After a break we went upstairs to investigate some more,
With two Alice’s running, and innuendos we were left rolling around the floor!
As it got dark we switched it up and decided to go outside,
The dark trees stood there all imposing for the spirits and ghosts to hide.

We shared stories like long lost friends and stumbled along a trail,
Knowing full well that this amazing night will be told in future tales,
I don’t think we have even scratched the surface, but friends I see you all,
I love this place more and more – The amazing Bosworth Hall!

I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the guest writers on this blog for getting involved and sharing their wonderful experiences with everyone!

Paranormal Lockdown UK.

Hi everyone!

First of all happy #HauntedThursday to all of the #HauntedThursdayFamily!

(and if you read this after Thursday, you can ignore that! ha!)

Now I know most of you including myself are saddened by the fact that we reached the final episode of Paranormal Lockdown UK!

SO! With that in mind I thought it’d be cool to do a rundown of the locations that Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman visited whilst here in the UK as well as do a re-cap on some of the amazing activity and evidence they captured!

It’s no secret that I am a HUGE Paranormal Lockdown fan and I have been from the very beginning of the series. I have a massive amount of respect for both Nick and Katrina and I admire the way the two investigate with a totally no BS approach. They are always finding new ways to experiment within the paranormal field with innovative inventions which prove to catch some amazing evidence! (Shout out to Elizabeth Saint the baddass gadget guru!)

FOR THIS BLOG we were lucky enough to get an exclusive quote from the main man himself Nick, Where he spoke about his time here in the UK.

Here’s what he had to say!

So, there we have it guys! It’s great to see that Nick was impressed with the locations that he visited whilst over here in jolly old’ England. (Fingers crossed that the two will be coming back very soon for another paranormal adventure!)

Now, let’s re-cap on some of the amazing evidence and locations from this season!

Below you will find a list of each location that Katrina and Nick visited and investigated whilst over here in the UK. I have also included the websites where appropriate so you can catch up on the history and discover more about the hauntings. (PS, Not every location has a website or detailed history as some are privately owned, But I did a little digging online and those will be accompanied by a short write up.)

I have also included a detailed re-cap of some of my favorite evidence that was captured throughout the series!

SO FYI – If you have yet to see the series…

spoilers ahead!

Episode one – Shepton Mallet Prison.

Location: Somerset.
Website & History:  Click Here

Shepton Mallet highlights.

  • A lot of shadow figures witnessed in the courtyard from both Nick and Katrina which is a regular phenomenon reported to happen at the prison.
  • Captured on film – very clearly a cell door was heard slamming in ‘A’ wing. This was also where Nick had extremely disturbed sleep due to continuous banging and footsteps. An EVP was rolling throughout the night which captured unexplained voices.
  • Evidence in reference to ‘The Kray Twins’ (who were once imprisoned at Shepton Mallet) — via the Geoport.
  • A ‘hiss’ was clearly heard as Nick entered one of the oldest underground jail cells.
  • Amazing response on the Geoport from a spirit named ‘Cassandra’ which clearly said the words ‘I don’t want to die’.

Episode Two – Drakelow Tunnels.

Location: Kidderminster.
Website and History: Click Here

Drakelow Tunnels highlights.

  • Unexplained footsteps and noises were heard and caught of film throughout the tunnels and they both heard what sounded like a ‘group’ of peoples ‘footsteps’ bounding towards them with no reasonable explanation.
  • Great responses on the Geoport.
  • Nick experienced battery drainage on his devices whilst alone and felt a presence. He then captured a very clear figure (of what looked like a man) walking behind him and turning into another tunnel.
  • Light panel experiment and after life box showed great results.

Episode Three – The Royal Oak Pub.

Location: Winchester.
Website: Click Here
Hauntings: With the building being used a courthouse and a hospital for soldiers in the past, its unsurprising that the royal oak pub holds so much energy within it’s walls. It is said that the former landlady and her daughter passed away in the property and the current owners believe their to be some kind of ‘vortex’ to the spirit realm which is why the activity is so hot at this location. Not only that but it’s also believed to be haunted by  ‘Jack Stevens’ and his family.

Royal Oak pub highlights.

  • Nick and Katrina both documented feeling an oppressive energy as well as static electricity.
  • Unexplained banging from the downstairs rooms.
  • French responses captured on the Geoport believed to be that of soldiers as well as references to a baby.
  • Katrina experienced disturbed sleep sensing a darker energy and a flickering light was caught on film whilst in the vortex room as well as random bursts of extremely high EMF readings on the TriField meter.

Episode Four – The Abandoned Park Hotel.

Location: Morecambe
Website: n/a
Hauntings: Built in the 1900’s The Park hotel served as a fully functioning hotel for many years. The site is now abandoned and tales of horrific ghost stories have emerged. A lot of deaths have been reported in the hotels history and a lot of people believe the souls of these spirits to still be trapped inside of it’s walls.

Abandoned park hotel highlights.

  • Katrina reported feeling an uncomfortable and oppressive feeling in the upstairs parlor room.
  • Sounds of banging and footsteps heard from the upstairs rooms.
  • Extremely loud and powerful disembodied ‘scream’ from a woman was picked up on the cameras audio with no logical explanation.
  • Great intelligent responses via the phonetic audio device.
  • A door closed on Nick and this was caught on film.
  • Stick figure was caught using 3D mapping camera and they received intelligent interaction with the light panels.
  • Reference to witches was made using the Geoport.

Episode Five – Skegness Hell House.

Location: Skegness.
Website: n/a
Hauntings: The Skegness Hell house has become increasingly popular with paranormal investigators over the last few years. This seemingly normal suburban house in the heart of Skegness supposedly holds an entity so terrible that it has received reference to The Enfield Haunting and 30 east drive. The family who once lived in the property have been subjected to a terrifying haunting for over the last twenty years.

Skegness Hell House Highlights.

  • Both Nick and Katrina documented smelling a ‘sulfur’ like odor which can be a sign of a demonic presence.
  • Unexplained banging captured throughout the home.
  • Nick reported feeling dizzy and felt the entity was trying to attach to him.
  • Great experiment with the E.E.G to monitor Nicks brain activity whilst he slept in Sylvia’s room. Documented vivid and intense dreams.
  • Intelligent responses via the geoport in reference to the family who lived in the home as well as the name ‘Lucian’ which came up several times.
  • Nick, Katrina and Rob all reported that it felt as if the entire building shook.

( SPOOKY FACT: As listed here on the blog, The Skegness Hell house was supposed to be episode 5 and Newsham Park was episode 6 but due to unforeseen circumstances on the day the hell house episode was supposed to air, it mysteriously would not work! This forced Quest Red TV to swap the episodes around for that particular week.  Was this paranormal? Who knows! It’s a little strange though if you ask me! )

Episode Six– Newsham Park Hospital.

Location: Liverpool
History: Click Here
Hauntings: Not only was this remarkable location once an institution for the criminally insane, before that it was also a seaman’s orphanage. Some believe that the prospect of good and bad energy combine in this location. We have actually investigated this location ourselves and It’s a place I said I would NEVER go back to simply because of the awful experience I had inside of it’s walls. I felt followed, touched and pushed around. This place certainly messed with my head.

Newsham Park Hospital Highlights.

  • Katrina had the feeling of high anxiety in the kitchen area.
  • Sounds of a door banging and footsteps running in the punishment hall. (which is known throughout the UK as the naughty boys corridor.)
  • Great experiment with lasers and fog in the kitchen are. Documented light panels being activated at the same time responses were being received on the geoport which said ‘I lost my head’ and made reference to it ‘being sawed off’ — also received the name ‘Sid’ who was a ‘patient’.
  • Outline of a figure was captured on a photo through the fog.

Episode Seven – Margam Castle.

Location: Port Talbot, Wales.
History: Click Here
Hauntings: Click Here

Margam Castle Highlights.

  • Extremely loud bangs caught on the cameras audio coming from upstairs as well as the sound of footsteps.
  • Katrina saw the figure of a woman sitting next to the window in the front bedroom.
  • Had a clear response through the geoport after asking the spirits age it said ‘811’ And also a response saying ‘monks are here’ and ‘not good enough.’
  • Nick received disturbed sleep due to what sounded like doors slamming from upstairs.
  • A red glowing light anomaly was captured on camera from outside showing on a window where Emily’s room would be.
  • Sounds of an item being thrown which was captured on camera.

Episode Eight – The Mill Street Barracks.

(Dead Centrals TOP PICK ⭐️ — Favourite episode.)

Location: St Helens.
History: Click Here
Hauntings: The most regular reported phenomena at The Barracks is that of an angry spirit who is known to go around pushing people and causing trouble. Other well known sightings over the years include a Man called ‘Jack’, Soldiers, Nurses and a Three legged dog called Bruce.

Mill Street Barracks Highlights.

  • Loud noise of what sounded like something being dragged caught on audio whilst investigating in the basement.
  • Locked off camera caught a chair moving in the main hall.
  • Nick reported feeling a negative energy.
  • Captured a voice saying ‘I’m Claire’ during an EVP session and also what sounded like a dog panting.
  • Nick was startled after seeing a shadow rush past the door in the basement.
  • Intelligent response which said the name ‘Bruce’ (which is the name of the three legged dog that has connections to the building) this was during the daytime investigation whilst using a device that generates phonetic words.
  • Captured light panel censors being activated as if something crossed over them.
  • Used the ‘phasma box’ in the bunkbed rooms and received some intelligent responses to their line of questioning. The name ‘Jack’ and also what sounded like a dog barking.
  • Katrina saw a crescent moon shaped light anomaly.
  • Captured curse words coming though the phonetic device that said ‘F**k that!’ And then captured what sounded like something ‘sparking’ described as an energy burst.
  • Motion censor on the chair in the main room was activated whilst Nick and Katrina were in the basement as well as lights flickering on the EMF devices.

Episode Nine – The Kenton Theatre.

Location: Henley-on-Thames
History: Click Here
Hauntings: Many reports of shadow figures have been witnessed by both staff and visitors at the Thetre and a general feeling of being watched by something unknown. Objects have moved without a reasonable explanation and staff say that they believe it to hold a lot of residual energy.

Kenton Theatre Highlights.

  • Nick reported seeing a shadow move out into the audience seating area whilst stood upon the stage and Katrina said she saw something similar in the sound booth.
  • Katrina saw another figure which seemed to be walking back to their seat. During a geoport session she asked who she saw and it responded ‘murderer’.
  • Katrina had disturbed sleep as it sounded like someone was moving around and Nick captured a voice saying ‘Get up Nick’ on the EVP.
  • The geobox said the words ‘close it’ and a few seconds later the trap door slammed shut on Nick whilst he was on the catwalk.
  • Used a motion detector which was attached to a stage curtain as well as ‘ping pong’ balls set on the ground for wind detection encase of a draft. Katrina also saw another shadow in this area as witnessed later by the cameraman, Rob.
  • Motion censor on the curtain was activated and the curtain was caught on camera as it moved, Nick also saw a shadow at this time as well as footsteps and movement captured coming from the stage area.
  • Figure captured on 3D mapping system which looked like something ducking in and out of the curtain on the stage.

Episode Ten – Hinchingbrooke House

Location: Cambridgeshire.
History: Click Here
Hauntings: The site is believed to be haunted profoundly by that of a Monk, many have witnessed a dark figure upon the grounds draped in what could only be described as a  hooded Monk’s attire. There is also a very well known story of a lady in white, again, she is seen to glow and walk the grounds as well as the house and has been spotted by numerous visitors of the location.

Hinchingbrooke House Highlights.

  • Katrina reported getting a pain on the side of her head as well as a ringing in her ears at the start of the investigation downstairs. Nick also saw a ‘shadow man’ standing by the doorway.
  • Loud footsteps were heard coming from the hallway / upstairs and these were caught on the cameras audio.
  • Using the ‘poltercom’ device, it sounded like a prayer was being said and also the words ‘leave now’.
  • Katrina (several hours later) still reported feeling an extremely bad pain in her head. (One of the reports in the home is that a lady was shot in the head.) it was believed she was picking up on the emotion of that. She asked for the spirit to give her sign of a noise if she was correct and a bang was heard coming from the corner of the room.
  • Received reference to a ‘black monk’ on the Poltercom device. Unsure (at the time) if this was connected to their investigation at 30 east drive. This came through multiple times throughout the second night and day.
  • Nick received disturbed sleep after seeing a shadow in an underground (cellar) area which was soon followed by footsteps and a loud bang.
  • Using a device activated by touch they received an intelligent response when asking if the figure in the cellar was a monk.
  • On the final night they received more voices one in particular which said ‘who are you?, get out’. The light panel sensors had been set up upon the stairs and just as Nick saw a shadow move over them they activated and lit up.
  • A lot of loud footsteps and bangs were heard coming from several different directions in the house.
  • When asked if the body buried beneath the stairs was the black monk they received the response ‘yes’ and also had reference to the 11th century.

To finish this blog. I would just like to say what a joy it was watching Nick and Katrina as they investigated some of the most haunted locations that the UK has to offer. They really captured some amazing evidence and I really do hope they decide to come back again very soon! (And also a Massive thank you to Nick for always being a gent and supplying us with a quote!)

AND for those of you in the UK…..

QUEST OD still have some of the episodes up online for you to watch and they can be accessed by clicking HERE.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the re-cap blog and have liked delving back into some of the history, hauntings and evidence caught throughout Paranormal Lockdown UK.

It was certainly a pleasure to write about.

Until next time..

Happy Hunting!

The Old Nick Theatre

Hi everyone!

This is just a small blog update to talk about our feature in issue 21 of Haunted Magazine!

I went off to investigate the brilliant Old Nick Theatre in Lincolnshire UK this past September and I have written about the nights paranormal investigation as well as some of the activity we received which can all be found in Haunted Magazine!

Haunted magazine is available for purchase (worldwide) in print via their website HERE

It is also available to read for FREE online in digital format AND.. they /also/ have  an APP you can use on your device or tablet under ‘Haunted Magazine’ in the APP store.

I hope you enjoy the article and the magazine in general.

It’s a really great issue that explores a lot of variety within the paranormal field and includes a whole host of different individuals and their stories. (They also bagged a couple of amazing exclusives from Nick Groff, Katerina Weidman and the Tennessee Wraith Chasers!) well worth a look!

Until next time,

Happy hunting.

A guide to haunted Britain.

Looking for a spooky place to check out in the UK?

We here at Dead Central recently teamed up with Great Little Breaks and contributed our knowledge about some of the most spookiest places to visit right here in the UK!

It’s an extremely fascinating article which reveals some of the most haunted towns and cities in Britain and also speaks about the ghost stories that are held inside of them!

We contributed to the article and and spoke about some of our favorite locations!

Haunted Antiques.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our next investigation blog where we traveled to Hinkley in Leicestershire to check out the paranormal goings on of a very unique location – The Haunted Antiques Paranormal Research Centre!

During this investigation we filmed a lot more than usual and boy are we glad we did as we captured some pretty amazing stuff! Below you will be able to find a breakdown of activity that have videos in each section to go along with it (sort of like highlights!)

But first, let’s hear a little more about the centre itself!

Haunted Antiques.

The magnificent centre opened in the summer of this year and is run by paranormal antique collector and investigator, Neil Packer.

The centre can be found at 11A Regent street in the heart of Hinkley and is open to the public where it has more than 100 items on display. After speaking with Neil he did state that not all of the items can be considered as ‘haunted‘ but most do have an energy which surrounds them. The entire reason for the centre is to conduct paranormal research into each item and share their findings with fellow paranormal enthusiasts!

The public are welcome to visit the centre (free of charge!) and Neil also welcomes you to bring in objects of your own, have a cup of tea and chat about any experiences you may of had.

I believe what makes this center so unique is the fact that it is like no other of it’s kind and I discovered this after meeting with the team and it became clear to me that they are truly dedicated with their research within the paranormal filed. It really was a breath of fresh air – Myself and James felt very welcomed.

None of the items are encased behind glass! In fact, Neil actually encourages his visitors to handle the items! (How great is that?!)

Very recently Neil was a guest on ITV’S this morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield I have found the interview online and you can watch the video below to learn a little more about what the centre has to offer!

What is a haunted object?

Written by James Bosley

We’ve all heard of haunted houses, haunted hospitals, castles, schools, tunnels etc. etc. and most of us have probably heard of haunted items, the most famous being the likes of the Annabel doll (featured in the conjuring films and investigated/secured by Ed and Lorraine Warren). When it comes to a haunted building, the immediate assumption is that a traumatic death occurred inside, or the previous tenant just can’t move on – whether residual energy is left in the surrounding environment immediately after death or an intelligent entity roams the corridors, too attached to ‘move out’.

So what is it that makes an object haunted, to the point that wherever the object might go the hauntings continue?

There are now several museums popping up around the world who claim to host the ‘worlds most haunted’ items; from furniture, dolls, weapons and cauldrons to bones, there’s a plethora of different objects that are reported to have tormented their original owners so much that they just had to get rid.

Before we look at possible causes let’s look at some of the most notorious ‘items’ that tend to be associated with hauntings:

The Dybbuk Box

If you haven’t seen the film ‘The Possession’ I’d recommend watching it to get a better idea of what these are – whilst the film is plagued with special effects and huge over exaggerations it does give some insight in to what this is.
Traditionally a Dybbuk box is a wine cabinet that is said to be haunted by a ‘Dybbuk’. A Dybbuk is a restless spirit, usually malicious with the ability to possess the living. The box was made famous when it was auctioned on eBay with a horror story written by Kevin Mannis, without going in to a heap of detail go an Google ‘eBay Dybbuk box’ if you want to find out more – it’s pretty interesting!
Kevin was a creative writer and therefore you have to take a lot of what is described with a pinch of salt. Since this first box there’s been many more pop up for sale, the vendors claiming that evil spirits have been trapped inside, which in the world of all things paranormal, makes them very expensive and saught after.

To cut a long story short for the purpose of this blog, when Kevin came in to possession of the box he immediately broke the golden rule ‘do not open’. When he opened it he found some strange items (pictured above) and locks of human hair bound in cord. He left his shop for the day and upon return found the whole place to be trashed with no sign of break-in or anything missing.

The crying boy painting

A very famous series of ‘cursed; paintings, renowned for spooky associations that carry an aura of uncertainty even today. ‘The crying boy’ is actually mass produced print of a collection of paintings of crying boys and girls which have sparked nationally feared urban legends.
Back in September 1985, The Sun newspaper reported that an Essex firefighter had claimed that undamaged copies of the paintings were frequently found in the embers of burned down houses. By the end of November word had spread and people had begun to accuse the painting of being cursed.
The Sun organised mass bonfires for those in fear to destroy their copy of the crying boy and people flocked to get rid of them in an effort to dodge the curse. The paintings were later investigated by BBC radio 4 who found that the prints were treated with varnish containing fire retardant chemicals, they also noted that the string holding the painting would be the first thing to deteriorate in a fire and the painting was likely to fall landing face down – protecting it from the flames.
Cursed or not, the crying boy is one of the most nationally feared haunted objects and is a unique case of where multiples of the same object are believed to be haunted (/cursed).

Robert the doll

Most people in the world of weird have heard of Robert, he’s a very tired looking sailor doll that has made news headlines multiple times for his creepy antics. The doll was originally owned by Robert Eugene Otto, an artist who belonged to the prominent Key West family. The doll was reportedly manufactured by the Steiff Company in Germany and purchased by Otto’s Grandfather on a trip in 1904.
There’s nothing conclusive as to why this doll is haunted, some say the doll remained at the Key West family household for a long time, even after new ownership had taken over the house. Others believe the supernatural powers of the doll were activated by Otto blaming it for his childhood misfortune. Either way, the claims are strong; starting from just a change in facial express, giggling noises and objects moving around the room the doll is in. Some claim that this doll will cause car accidents, broken bones, job loss, divorce and cornucopia. Robert now resides in the East Martello Museum and visitors have claimed to have suffered misfortune after visiting the doll for not ‘respecting robert’.
The doll has featured on Zag Bagans, Mystery Mansion in October 2015 and there has been a series of films produced on the doll starting with ‘Robert’ in 2015 then a sequel titled ‘The Curse of Robert The Doll’ and finally ‘The Toy Maker’ in 2017.

Still, what is a haunted item?

Well, that’s like asking what is a haunted building? what is a ghost? what is a spirit?
Its subjective and people will argue and disagree but essentially a haunted object/item is anything that has a spirit attached to it, rather than a spirit that roams freely. Some items like the Dybbuk box you can think of like a prisoner in a cell, instead the malicious spirit is contained. With some of the others they tend to be thought of as vessels, where the spirit can rest and manifest when it wishes (dolls, typically).

Most haunted objects tend to be creepy items to start with, if they are associated with traumatic death – like murder weapons, furniture surrounding a place of execution etc, coffin/funerary items we will already have a preconceived unease about the item.

However even in my time investigating I’ve seen a HUGE amount of weird and wacky haunted items – dolls, tables, lamps, telephones, jewellery, taxidermy, watches, clocks – the list is endless. It’s probably my biggest fascination with the paranormal world. I’ve been seeking out haunted and cursed objects for about 6 years now and in that time have amassed quite a collection (most of which I’ve since passed on). While I find it difficult to accept a spirit free from the parameters of mortality would be confined to something as trivial as a doll or wooden box, the overwhelming number of reports of people living through hell because of ‘haunted items’ is difficult to argue with.
A place like the Haunted Antiques Paranormal Research centre is a small version of heaven for me. Nowhere else can you get hands on with such a variety of haunted items in an environment that fosters authentic paranormal research through both traditional and modern methods. If you have any interest at all in learning more about haunted items I strongly recommend you visit the museum.

The Investigation.

Written by Vicky Grant

We investigated the centre in late August of this year and Neil was kind enough to invite us down and leave us to our own devices!

We arrived at the centre at around 8PM and were greeted by Neil and two of his fellow team members, Sharon and Jane.

After chatting about a few of the items myself and James went off to take a few pictures of the location for you all to see and those can be found below in a slideshow.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

When you first enter the centre you will find a small reception room for guests before you are taken fully into the museum. The first photos show the main room which is filled with an array of different items. After exploring this area you can move into the hallway where you will find the staircase and even more amazing objects! I was particularly fond of the dolls on the stairs….. ( and I have to admit, there was a completely different atmosphere in that area! )

Down the corridor at the bottom you will find some ‘darker‘ items.

On the night we visited, Neil had actually had a new item which had been delivered to him, it was a priests exorcism kit. ( You can imagine James’ excitement, he seriously was like a kid in a sweet shop! Ha! )

Priest exorcism kit at Haunted Antiques.

This particular item had only been at the museum for a few days so we decided right then and there that we would do some work with it ourselves on the night to see if we could contact anything that may have been attached to it.

After exploring the darker items we were then told of the isolation booth.

This is a room that has been set up for research where you can take a particular item into the room alone and sit quietly to see if you can make a connection with the item. If you ask me, It’s a brilliant idea! Though I wasn’t entirely sure about this whole ‘going on my own business‘ – I guess you’ll see why a little later!

At the very back of the centre is another small room which is known as the seance room. Their is a round table set up in the middle along with a few chairs. Not only is the Museum filled with a vast amount of Haunted Antiques but the building itself is said to be haunted within it’s own right.

Dating back to the 1800’s – you definitely get the full feel of the history as you step into the back room and are greeted by low beams which only add to that marvelous Victorian feel.

Spiritual intuition

Before we began our investigation we got chatting with Jane about some of the experiences that had been had in the museum via the general public.

Jane is a Spiritual medium who is able to pick up on the energy of spirits around her. She told me she keeps a journal to jot down her feelings and she also draws the spirits she see’s.

She was kind enough to share the story of the man in the hat with us who is seen regularly by herself ( and others! ) on the stairs.

She’d told us that a child was visiting the museum one Saturday afternoon and he’d become scared whilst on the stairs. Saying that he’d seen a ‘monster‘.

Jane using her ‘researching‘ mind had asked the child to draw what he had seen.

Here is the photo!

As you can see – he’s wearing what looks like a bowler hat of some sort.

Jane then went on to show me the picture she had drawn herself of the man on the stairs when she first started out at the museum (many months before the little boy had visited!)

One photo drawn by a child and the other drawn by an adult yet the similarities of the Hat are uncanny!

I have to admit, this was one of the highlights of my evening!

Thank you for sharing this with us Jane!

The Seance Room

We began our investigation in the seance room and we had taken the exorcism kit along with us which had been set up in the middle of the table.

We started by calling out as we always would.

This particular room had a feel like no other and it was felt by myself and James as soon as we had stepped foot inside of it. It had a darker atmosphere which is generally hard to put into words unless you were there and able to witness it for yourself.

We spent a long time in this room calling out and so far we’d only received what seemed like small ‘taps’ in response to our questions, though how paranormal this was, we were unsure.

James began to include the exorcism kit into the line of questioning and we were both startled to hear what sounded like a ‘devious growl‘ – we both heard this and we’d turned to look at each other. Honestly, I was a little on edge after this as it sounded so very loud to me and as if it had been only a few inches away.

We were filming at this particular time and it was picked up on camera, although it sounded more like a ‘heavy breath‘ on film – Which in honesty was nothing compared to what we actually heard with our own ears! (Cue the impressions in the video!)

We also conducted an EVP session in this area but we only received one thing that could have been considered as a response. It sounded like a whistle, we also captured some odd ‘electrical interference‘ and you can check this out in the video below!

The hallway and the stairs

Venturing out into the hallway, we’d sat just outside of the seance room at the top end of the corridor. We’d placed an EMF trigger object bear at the bottom and I had the K2 in front of me. I’d only been filming for a few minutes when I heard what sounded like a mumbling voice. I honestly thought this was James, In fact as you will see from the video I went into full denial of it all and started to blame him for it over and over again. He was looking at me like I was mad so I’d turned the camera off and we did an instant review of the footage and sure enough, the voice could be heard and it was captured on camera.

I have no idea what it’s saying. It almost sounds like ‘sup‘ (haha!)  – but it could certainly be conceived as just mumbling.

I’d like to apologize to James for yelling at him LOL!

We’d started off in this area with activity so we decided to stay where we were for a little while longer and continued to call out.

We didn’t receive anything more until we’d decided to get up and make our way towards the stairs.

I’d already ventured down to the bottom and James was behind me. It was then I heard an almighty crash and I about jumped out of my skin. I thought James had knocked something over as you’ll hear me say

‘What have you done?’

Only to turn and find him just stood (looking a little shocked) as he stared off into the corner. It turns out that the candle harbour that was placed on the top shelf had fallen off and gone with a bang!

As you’ll see, I got very excited about this. Mainly because at the very start of our night we were told during our walk-around by Jane and Sharon that the night previous to this one – This same candle harbour had flew off the shelf and somehow landed in the middle of the room.

After trying to debunk this we went and got the ladies to see exactly how it had been propped on the shelf. It actually took four of us to bounce up and down on the floor to get it to move. Not only that, but the object that was in it’s place prior to this one was also known to be somewhat of a trigger object.

Was this paranormal?

I honestly can not say!

I’d like to think it was because it took so many of us jumping up and down to make it move but then again, I guess it could have been slightly at a swerve on the shelf and it may have only took a small movement to make it go!

During the time of us trying to debunk this moment, we captured a strange sound on the audio which has been pointed out in the video, it sounds like an old fashioned child’s toy, the type you’d blow on to make a ‘swooping sound

You’ll hear it and it’s very freaky indeed!

Defying everything we moved to the bottom of the stairs regardless and began to conduct a spirit box session.

I will say that in this area there is a very high level of EMF as you’ll see from our K2 as it spiked to red. This is due to an electrical box at the top of the stairs.

High EMF readings can cause feelings of being uncomfortable and also hallucinations so after discovering this we kept that thought in mind although this would have no effect upon the spirit box. (And you’d have to be pretty close to the box to feel a profound effect!)

I am terrible with spirit box responses most of the time although on this particular occasion I did pick up on a few things whilst I was there, the majority I noticed after watching the footage back though!

My favorite moment was when we were talking about the K2 spikes and a female voice came though the box (who sounded as if she had a foreign accent!)

The words were ‘over the’ – ‘fire door

Pretty much a full sentence over several sweeps in the same voice! (Very rare indeed!)

What’s even more weird is that during the time of the voice – we were holding the K2 over the fire door!

During this time in the hallway we also ventured into the ‘Isolation Booth’ – James had been getting a very strange vibe from the room from the beginning of the night and I had too. Our original plan was to split up and take it in turns alone but evidently we both chickened out in the end and decided to go in together. Safety in numbers, ha!

We filmed for a short time in this area but I began to feel extremely nauseous so much so that I turned the camera off and just sat quietly in the room with James whilst he continued to call out.

It felt like the room was spinning. I was very dizzy and I didn’t spend long in there at all.

After an eventful session we decided we wanted to take the spirit box into the seance room where we’d earlier heard the growl to see if we could connect with the spirit that had made the sound.

We actually received some pretty amazing responses in here, my favorite being the point when a male voice came through the box and said ‘Hi Vicky‘ – It was so VERY clear and I heard it the moment it was spoken.

Upon review of the footage we were also surprised to hear an ‘aggressive female voice come though the box – Jame’s thought at the time she was saying ‘stop it’ – but open listening properly she was actually saying ‘F**k it

The F at the start is so pronounced it couldn’t be mistaken for anything other!

We also captured what sounded like a conversation between two people.

You’ll hear a voice come through which says ‘Jonathan?‘ (as if asking where this person was!) then a couple of seconds later a male voice will come through and say ‘Don’t cry, I was joking‘ – Another full sentence over several sweeps in the same voice.

Did we pick up on a residual moment?

It sure sounded like it!

The Main Room.

For the last part of the evening we ventured into the main room to investigate and we decided to do some work with the ovilus.

I thought it’d be a good idea to take the device around the different objects in the room and to see if it would speak and say something relevant to the items.

I started on the left side of the room and we didn’t receive any solid responses until we reached an old radio. The lights on the device began to fluctuate from green to yellow indicating a change in temperature in this area. I’d been walking around with the device and this was the only time it had changed so far and it wasn’t something that was consistent ( If their was a solid temperature change it wouldn’t fluctuate and then suddenly stop for no reason! ) – sometimes it would change around the object and other times it wouldn’t. Very strange indeed.

Moving on from the radio we also received the same response on the opposite side of the room around an old army uniform. I then moved the device to a shelf of army memorabilia and it said the word ‘metal’

James was quick to point out that this made sense. Half of the objects on this particular shelf were made of metal. It had knifes, helmets and other weapons.

But it was about to get a lot more accurate!

I went to the last shelf in the room which had some dolls upon it and the device came out with the word ‘east

To me, it felt as if we were being directed so I’d instantly asked James which way it was.

He’d taken out his phone to find a compass and after a few moments we discovered east was in the corner of the room and you will hear James say…

‘Its where the Bike is’

The device is placed onto the shelf with the war memorabilia and I sat down. I then asked which item the spirit was attached too and what happened next was the most amazing intelligent response I have ever received!

The device said ‘BIKE’

ALL of this was captured on camera and I hope you’ll be just as amazed as I was!

First it told us to go EAST – Which is exactly where the Bike was and then it told us intelligently what item it was attached too!

I’ve never had an ovilus response be so accurate before and I was thoroughly impressed!

We had a really eventful night at the Haunted Antiques paranormal research centre and there is no doubt in my mind that this place and the objects certainly do hold some kind of residual and intelligent spirit energy!

I would like to say a huge thanks to Neil for having us!

We’d love to come back at some point in the future and maybe bring a part two to this blog and try to answer some of the questions this amazing location has left us with!

If you would like to know more about the centre then please do check them out on Facebook by clicking here.

Until next time…

Happy Hunting!
