As many of you are aware, I joined the Breaking Paranormal UK team this past weekend (02/12/2017) to investigate the magnificent Drakelow Tunnels!
The Tunnels are steeped in history, Originally built between 1941 and 1942 – They are a former top secret 3 and a half mile long series of tunnels underneath Kingsford Country Park north of Kidderminster, Worcestershire. The tunnels were used during WW11 – then known as the Shadow Factory for the Rover car company where they produced parts for aircraft engines and tank engines until 1958 when the tunnels were handed over to the Ministry of Supply, and later Ministry of Works.
If you would like to know more information on the history, please visit the website, It’s a very interesting read! http://www.drakelow-tunnels.co.uk/
I also found some interesting Newspaper articles online, The first from 1941 and the second, 1943.
The night of the investigation, I met up with Mike Davis, Paranormal Investigator for Breaking Paranormal UK – Who has been investigating the tunnels for the last 7 years! – he was once a part of the resident paranormal team who ran events at the tunnels – (So, he really does know the place like the back of his hand!) Mike kindly agreed to give me a tour and some of the brief history as well as share his own personal paranormal experiences. Please watch the video below as I take the tour with him!
During the walk around, I must admit, I did feel a little uneasy when we reached the kitchen area, the atmosphere seemed to change and I could clearly hear some noises in the background, thus disrupting our interview for a few moments. If you listen closely, you can hear movement in the background – At this point, Only me and Mike were actually in the tunnels, everyone else was at the hub (which I may point out, is VERY far away from us) having a break.
Throughout the night, I took a series of photos, I actually came across two sets, which are questionable in my own point of view, but I would love to hear your own thoughts of them!
Stupidly, I didn’t notice the strange lights at the time of taking the photos, simply because I was snapping these pictures on my phone as I walked around. When I later looked back, I realized I took the first on the way up to the entrance and the second after I had come out the other end – so, It looks as if those lights are moving!
This second set of pictures below, I did notice at the time. I spotted the first anomaly, so snapped two pictures afterwards to be sure.
I’m unsure exactly what it could be, there was a lot of moisture in the air, but the way it looks as if it’s moving so rapidly, I came to inconclusive, especially as there wasn’t anything similar in the pictures afterwards.
Throughout the night, I investigated along with the breaking paranormal UK team, as well as separating away from the group and spending a little time on my own.
All in all, it was a quiet night. I have investigated the tunnels around 6 times in the past and it really never does cease to amaze me… even if we didn’t get a lot of activity the sheer atmosphere and being in those surroundings is worth it!
I did have a personal experience of the night, One, when me and Kim Reynolds of BPUK went off to investigate by ourselves, we heard a loud crash at the end of the tunnel, only to run down and find nothing that could have caused it, as well as hearing a mans voice. My other experience was also with Kim, during a seance, we both witnessed what looked like a torch light right before our eyes and upon inspection, it actually led into a room … which was empty.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and I can’t wait to go back hopefully in the new year and investigate this place again!
I would like to say a huge thank you to the BPUK team for being such great hosts and a special thanks to Mike for showing me around and sharing his experiences.

Great friends! Lots of laughs!
Until next time…………..
